Cautiously optimistic. But resigned, at the same time.
Please pray for my friends M&R and Jana and Michael who are both going through a very difficult part of their wait. Hopefully we will all get good news today.
As of 8pm....
So, it looks like no one got a referral today, and for good reason. Gladney announced some delays in Ethiopian adoptions that are beyond their control. Out of respect, I have taken down the details.
All that to say- yeah, I don't think I will be getting my referral any time soon. The cautious optimism is gone, and resignation reigns.
17 days until I exit The Window.

Grace, that was a really good way to explain what's going on. Hopefully people will read this for a better understanding. I also want to (maybe?) ease some minds... I know these investigations happen a lot. Gladney families don't hear of the orphanages being investigated that aren't in relationship to Gladney. But it does happen, randomly, from time to time. The encouraging news is that Ethiopians really care about their children and are generally supportive of adoption, unlike many, many other countries I've worked with. Ethiopians seem to have ration and reason in a lot of what they do concerning this orphan crisis. So I'm with you- I hope and pray that all is well and that things move forward soon. I'm praying for you and all the waiting families... it's so hard.
take care-

So sorry to hear about the wait. I pray that things will move along quickly.
Hang in there!
Hi Grace - I read similar info on the "Groups" page. Did you get a call from your caseworker? We haven't received any phone call at all....just curious.
Peace.
I haven't heard anything about this. I wonder why we haven't been contacted??
We weren't contacted. Then again, we JUST rec'd a referral. I'm sure they are hoping it gets cleared before we'd be expecting a court date. Not sure what orphanage they are investigating since I'm not 'in the know'. Will keep my fingers crossed that all is found to be above board.
You are right, It's best for the kids and that is what is important.
