Swoonish

So, I don't really buy much for myself in terms of clothing. I have a few basic items and may buy things I need (such as nurisng gear and socks without holes) but I don't have a very big wardrome. Especially right now, since I refuse to buy much that fits my (current) size... (because I am going to lose this baby weight!)

But these things are tempting me...

Ordinary Hero Speak Up Shirt:

Ordinary Hero Tote:

And for my little dude, this Ordinary Hero onesie:

These items are available at a special price over at the Ordinary Hero Blog. They are also accepting sign-ups for their adoption/mission trip partner fundraisers. If you are trying to fundraise for an adoption or mission trip, you should definitly check out this partnership.

My birthday is in May, in case you are feeling generous:)

Jonesin'

I am seriously jonesin' for this tote, mug, car decal, and t-shirt (over at the Minus 1 Project). Seriously, one of the best adoption t-shirts I have seen.

My girls got these t-shirt for Christmas from my sister, courtesy of Calling Orphans Home. Seriously cute. I wouldn't mind one of those either:)

What are your favorite adoption/orphan care fundraiser products?

Preview: Q&A

Here are some questions I will be answering soon:

Relating to travel...
  • Did you buy Anna a seat on the plane or was she on your lap?
  • How did you arrange to get the bassinet on the flight?
  • What travel agent did you use?

Relating to the care centers and orphanages...

  • What was the orphanage like?
  • Did they have enough toys?
  • Were the kids able to play a lot of the time or were they in their cribs a lot?
  • Were there any obvious needs?

Relating to planning and budgeting....

  • How much money did you spend while there?

Relating to the in-country staff...

  • What can they use or what do they want from the US?
  • What about the caregivers/gifts?

Do you have any questions? If so, please leave a comment or email me and I will try to respond to all of them in a future post!

Praise God/ Thanks SCC!

Oh my heavens! I can't stop thanking God for all his goodness and mercy to me!

I just got word today that I have received a $4,000 grant from Shaohannah's Hope, the adoption grant organization that was founded by Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman!

I love this organization because they are one of the few Christian adoption organizations that gives grants to single adoptive parents, not just married couples. They firmly believe that kids belong in a family, and they are working to make that happen for as many children as possible. So thanks Shaohannah's hope, thanks Steven and Mary Beth, and thank you God!

Another Blessing!

God is so good!

I've just received notice that I've been approved for a loan through A Child Waits Foundation! The loan will be for $10,000, at a low 5% interest rate. Praise God!

Praising God!

I just received notification that I have been approved for a $5000 adoption loan from the Oxford Adoption Foundation.

This loan can be repayed over the course of (up to) 9 years, but can be repaid earlier if able. The terms of the loan are 0% interest for the first 3 years, 3% interest for the second 3 years, and 6% interest for the last 3 years. I anticipate paying off the loan well before the interest kicks in, so this is essentially $5000 of free money to bring my baby home!

Praise God!
